Schimanski and Thanner are on the case after the head of a family furniture business is killed.

Paul Rhese, a hotel owner, is found dead in the freezer room of his hotel. As their investigation unfolds, Chief Detective Stoever and his colleague Brockmöller are astonished to discover what goes on behind the scenes at a large hotel. It soon becomes clear that the victim of this murder had enemies among the staff, as well as within his extensive family.

Schimanski investigates the suspected leader of a cunning criminal gang.
